Abstract

The collection consists of photos of Chalres H. Tindall and his family along with newspaper clippings, a songbook and a prescription book.

Scope and Contents of the Materials

This is a collection of Charles H. Tindall and his family. It includes family pictures of the Charles H. Tindall’s children when they were young. Also includes pictures of Charles H. Tindall during World War I. Also the collection includes information about the death of Charles H. Tindall in Yuma, Arizona. Also contains a song book that Tindall’s used. The collection includes family pictures of the Tindall family and including relatives of Charles Tindall. Also there is a Confederate dollar that was kept by the family. There is a picture of Minnie Tindall as apart of the Ladies of Apple Grove Lodge. Also Charles H. Tindall was a doctor and the collection includes a prescription book that he used to write out prescriptions out to his patients.

Collection Historical Note

Charles H. Tindall moved to Appleby in Nacogdoches County from Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1902. Charles H. Tindall was a doctor of medicine and received his degree from the His wife, Minnie Speer Tindall was a part of Ladies of Apple Grove Lodge. Charles and Minnie had two children, William Leonard and Nellie Mae. The family lived in Nacogdoches County for over 15 years until he had to move for military service to Yuma, Arizona. Dr. Charles Tindall died from injuries sustained from a car accident he was involved in. His vehicle was hit by a train. Dr. Tindall’s chest was crushed; his left arm fractured in three places and his left leg below his knee was shattered according the newspaper clipping that is inside this collection. Dr. Tindall was 47 years old.
