The Rusk County Historical Association includes among its purposes that of collecting and preserving documentary records of the history of Rusk County. This collection consists chiefly of materials gathered and presented to the East Texas Room, now the East Texas Research Center, at Stephen F. Austin State University in 1962-1963 and in 1965-1966. Judge Charles M. Langford of Mt. Enterprise and Maida Jaggers of Henderson especially were instrumental in arranging and preparing the letters, documents, stories, photographs, and newspaper clippings which comprise this collection. (Rusk County Historical Association Collection, Control File donor forms, ETRC.)
Scope and Contents: There are two subdivisions of the collection: the Rusk County Collection and the Vinzent papers, the latter being photostats of the originals in the possession of Mr. Sam Ross of Mt. Enterprise (1962).
