Websites

Chemicool Periodic Table
The familiar Periodic Table, which links to each element a full spectrum of its physical properties and other technical characteristics, including its abundance in the earth's crust and its cost. It also provides a link from each element to articles in Encyclopedia Britannica.

WebElements Periodic Table

EPA Envirofacts
The EPA EMCI (Envirofacts Master Chemical Integrator) site provides links to chemical data from several different program system databases. It provides extensive lists of hazardous substances with connections to available information about each.

NIST Chemistry Webbook
Physical property and spectral data for a large number of chemical compounds, searchable by formula, name, CAS registry number, author, structure and several physical properties.

PubChem
Provides information - physical properties, names, synonyms, etc. - for the biologically active small compounds, and is searchable by text term/keyword, formula, chemical properties, structure, etc.

X-Ray Properties of the Elements
A site that provides the X-Ray properties of the elements, linked from a periodical table diagram.

BIOGRAPHY

Nobel Prize Internet Archive
The Nobel Prize Internet site (1901 to current), is searchable by discipline, then either alphabetically by name, or chronologically, from current year back to 1901. Each entry provides terse biographical and educational background, and usually a photograph. It also provides addresses, telephone numbers and work affiliations. There are also many longer biographical sketches and news items about the laureates.

DIRECTORIES OF CHEMISTRY WEBSITES

Resources of Scholarly Societies - Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
A directory of scholarly societies of chemistry and chemical engineering, with each of these sites providing links to its own resources, and to other related sites.

MISCELLANEOUS

Chemical Industry site
"The worldwide search engine of the chemical industry," this site provides links to job banks listing both corporate and academic openings, sites for posting resumes, company listings by industry sectors, listings of organizations, academic institutions and other listings.

Martindale's "The Reference Desk" Calculators On-line Center (Chemistry)
An extensive site of calculators for various chemical conversions, such as unit and molar conversions, chemical equation balancer, various calculators for gas laws, NMR, pH, spectroscopy, etc.

Organic Compounds Database
This database contains information on over 2000 compounds.
